Having obtained work experience in both trade marks and patents, I decided the varied, commercial and fast-paced nature of trade marks was a perfect fit for me. I am now a Partner in the trade mark team at Boult.

I work on a wide range of trade mark portfolios with particular experience in telecommunications, financial services, pharmaceuticals and a variety of consumer goods. I am particularly skilled at clearance searching and developing strategies to enable brand owners to secure trade mark registrations and safely launch new products.

I also have extensive experience with UKIPO contentious proceedings, including oppositions, invalidity and non-use revocation actions. I frequently negotiate co-existence agreements and find pragmatic and amicable solutions to disputes for our clients.

The wide array of cases that we work on every day at Boult is at the heart of what I love about this role. Having spent several years of my career seconded in-house I have a strong commercial understanding of managing global brand portfolios from the client perspective.

Recent experience

Acting for a well-known global telecommunications company with strategic commercial issues, managing its large trade mark portfolio, including rights enforcement around the world through trade mark oppositions and its trade mark watching service.

Acting for a well-known global video game company handling the enforcement of its trade mark rights across Europe. This includes a significant amount of opposition work at the UKIPO and assisting in matters before the EUIPO, advising on the ongoing protection of new products and bringing key trade marks through to registration and assisting in the takeover of key commercial assets and related IP rights.

Acting for a UK consumer rights company in the enforcement of its trade mark rights and protection of its brand via a trade mark watching service.
